ELLICOTT CITY, MD – Howard County Executive Calvin Ball seeks two residents interested in serving on the Adult Public Guardianship Review Board. The deadline to apply is Friday, May 10, 2019.
The Board provides impartial oversight of the care and services provided to individuals under public guardianship and makes a recommendation to the court as to whether the public guardianship should be continued, modified or terminated.
To be eligible for consideration, candidates must be a Howard County resident, have an interest in adult guardianship issues and be able to attend the Board’s meetings which are held quarterly, the first Thursday of February, May, August and November at 9:00 a.m. in the Department of Social Services Conference Room, located at 9780 Patuxent Woods Drive in Columbia, or as otherwise designated.
Applicants should send a resume and brief letter explaining why they want to serve on the Board to Kimberly Pruim either by email to kpruim@howardcountymd.gov or by mail to: Howard County Government, Office of the County Executive, Attn: Kimberly Pruim, 3430 Court House Drive, Ellicott City, MD 21043. The names of eligible applicants will be submitted to the County Executive for approval and then to the County Council for confirmation.
The Department of Social Services, Adult Protective Services serves persons aged 18 and over who are unable to protect their own interests or are at risk of abuse, neglect and/or exploitation. Adult Protective Services provides investigative services to protect the health, safety and welfare of vulnerable adults.
