ELLICOTT CITY, MD – Three Old Ellicott City businesses received renovations and support from celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay’s for his ‘24 Hours to Hell and Back: Save Our Town” production, premiering tonight to a national television audience from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. on FOX. Ramsay and his crew spent a week in February filming in Ellicott City revamping the selected businesses and completing some beautification projects along Main Street.
“Gordon Ramsay and his team brought excitement and much-needed resources to Historic Ellicott City,” said County Executive Calvin Ball. “Over the course of several days, Ramsay’s crew, in partnership with hundreds of volunteers, worked nonstop to renovate, clean, and beautify our beloved historic Main Street. It was an incredible week and we are so thankful that Chef Ramsay saw how special Ellicott City is and chose to visit our amazing historic town.”
Since the onset of the COVID-19 outbreak, County Executive Ball has remained committed to assisting the businesses and restaurants of Ellicott City and throughout Howard County through many support and relief measures. In April, Ball launched an innovative app allowing restaurants and bars to list their carry-out and delivery options. 178 restaurants are currently listed, including eight in Old Ellicott City. Ball also joined La Palapa to distribute food for restaurant workers and promoted Su Casa’s Blood Drive this month.
