ELLICOTT CITY, MD – Howard County’s Department of Public Works (DPW) will hold a public meeting on Thursday, March 12 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. in the media center at Centennial Lane Elementary School, 3825 Centennial Lane in Ellicott City, to discuss plans for a nearby sidewalk connection project. The project will include installation of sidewalk along the eastbound lane of Frederick Road between Centennial Lane and Gray Rock Drive. The project is expected to begin fall 2020.
"Connecting important community facilities and services with sidewalks are a critical step for a truly multi-modal society," said Howard County Executive Calvin Ball. "This project will provide a full connection between Centennial Lane Elementary and the surrounding neighborhoods to the Howard County Library System’s Miller branch and the Ellicott City 50+ Center, ensuring more reliable and accessible infrastructure for our residents."
While there will be no formal presentation, the concept design will be available for public view and DPW staff members will be on hand to explain the proposed work, answer any questions and gather public comments.
Those unable to attend the meeting who would like to view the proposed plans and/or have questions regarding the project, should contact Mr. Kamran Sadeghi with DPW’s Transportation and Special Projects Division at 410-313-5889 or email ksadeghi@howardcountymd.gov.
An interpreter for people who are deaf or hard of hearing will be available if requested seven working days prior to the meeting. Please call DPW at 410-313-3440 (voice) or use Relay at 7-1-1, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
