ELLICOTT CITY, MD – Howard County Executive Calvin Ball and Department of Recreation & Parks Director Raul Delerme will host a ribbon cutting tomorrow, November 2nd at 7:45 a.m. to officially open Troy Park at Elkridge’s fourth field. A synthetic turf multipurpose field, this new field will include a press box, bleachers and lighting that will allow for televised games at night.
“Howard County is nationally renowned for its state-of-the-art recreation facilities. Since opening in 2014, Troy Park has served Elkridge as a valuable resource for residents, as well as visitors from around the region and beyond. We remain dedicated to providing the very best in amenities and infrastructure for Elkridge, and across the county,” said Ball. “Capable of hosting tournaments, league games, summer camps and so much more, this new field offers yet another way for residents and visitors to enjoy this valuable public space. This newest step forward in our five-phase plan for Troy Park will continue to expand recreation opportunities in Elkridge and keep our community the very best place to live, visit, and play.”
Located at 6500 Mansion Lane in Elkridge and capable of hosting tournaments, league games, summer camps and so much more, this new field offers yet another way for residents and visitors to enjoy this valuable public space. Saturday’s ribbon cutting ceremony will coincide with the start of the 2019 Fall Inside Lacrosse Invitational two-day lacrosse tournament. The tournament will bring 58 teams to Troy Park this weekend from across the United States, bringing in an estimated $360,000 in economic tourism to our region.
