ELLICOTT CITY, MD – Howard County Executive Calvin Ball is seeking applicants interested in serving on the Multimodal Transportation Board. The deadline to apply is Friday, June 28, 2019.

Comprised of 10 members, the Board advises the County Executive and County Administration on transportation matters, including transit (fixed-route and paratransit), bicycle transportation, pedestrian transportation, road networks and Transportation Demand Management.  

"Together, we will make transportation safer and more efficient for all. Multimodal transportation will be critical to the future of Howard County, our state and our region," said Ball. "We are making our community accessible for pedestrians, bicyclists, motorists and transit riders of all ages and abilities. I encourage you to apply to our Multimodal Transportation Board if you share my passion for improving tragic congestion, reducing emissions, and expanding accessibility.”

To be eligible for consideration, candidates must be a Howard County resident, have an interest in multimodal transportation and be able to attend the Board’s meetings which are held the fourth Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Ellicott Room of the George Howard Building, 3430 Court House Drive in Ellicott City. 

Applicants should send a resume and brief letter explaining why they want to serve on the Board to Kimberly Pruim either by email to kpruim@howardcountymd.gov or by mail to: Howard County Government, Office of the County Executive, Attn: Kimberly Pruim, 3430 Court House Drive, Ellicott City, MD 21043. The names of eligible applicants will be submitted to the County Executive for approval and then to the County Council for confirmation.
