ELLICOTT CITY, MD – Howard County Department of Public Works’ (DPW) Bureau of Highways’ Traffic Engineering Division will hold an open house on Tuesday, May 21st from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the cafeteria at Lake Elkhorn Middle School in Columbia, to present plans for a Complete Streets improvement project along Cradlerock Way.

This project will facilitate the safe and efficient flow of local commuter, bicycle and pedestrian traffic movements along Cradlerock Way. Design improvements include:

  1. Construction of raised intersections at select locations along the corridor; and
  2. Construction of a raised median along and two additional design alternatives for the Cradlerock Way corridor to provide safe and accessible walkways and bikeways for pedestrians and cyclists.

While there will be no formal presentation, DPW staff will be on hand to discuss the proposed alternatives, design and construction work, answer questions and gather public comment.

Those unable to attend the open house who would like to view the exhibits and/or have questions, should contact DPW’s Traffic Engineering Division at 410-313-2430 or email traffic@howardcountymd.gov
