The Planning Board's role is to guide the orderly growth and development of the County through the approval of development plans, as well as  recommendations to the County Council and Zoning Board on all matters relating to planning and zoning, including the County's General Development Plan, zoning map amendments and zoning regulation amendments.

Please note the deadline for registration for virtual participation is 1 business day, no later than 7:00 pm, before the scheduled meeting.

HEARING NOTICE

Planning Board Case No 458 Reservoir Hills - December 5, 2024

A public hearing will be held by the Planning Board in the George Howard Building, Banneker Room, Ellicott City, Maryland for a 16.02 acre property owned by Danny Andrews. The petition, filed under Senate Bill 236, "The Sustainable Growth and Agricultural Preservation Act of 2012," seeks to approve a subdivision for 6 residential lots, 1 buildable preservation parcel and 2 non-buildable preservation parcels, for a Growth Tier III project in a Rural Residential (RR) Zoning District. The Planning Board's review in this case is limited to two criteria - potential environmental issues or a natural resources inventory related to the proposed residential major subdivision and the cost of providing local government services. Since Howard County has an Adequate Public Facilities Ordinance, according to the State Act, the Planning Board will not consider the cost of providing local government services in its decision.

Alternative dates may be scheduled at the discretion of the Board. Meeting agendas and all supplemental materials are posted to the Planning Board website two (2) weeks in advance of the meeting date.
