ELLICOTT CITY, MD – A Howard County construction project to replace an aging water main along Faulkner Ridge Circle in the Village of Wilde Lake in Columbia is underway. The project will replace approximately 12,000 linear feet of cast iron water main with PVC main. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by mid-July 2022.
Signs are posted in the area to alert motorists of the construction and flagging operations will be in place to direct traffic as needed, as temporary lane shifts may be necessary during construction hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Additionally, the pedestrian bridge between Faulkner Ridge Circle and Green Mountain Circle will be temporarily removed during construction.
While the County and its transportation partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, drivers are reminded to stay alert and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Please slow down and don’t follow too closely when traveling through a work zone. Remember, work zone safety is in your hands.
