ELLICOTT CITY, MD – A developer project to widen Albeth Road at the intersection of Marriottsville Road, as well as add a right turn lane from southbound Marriottsville Road onto Albeth, for a new housing development in Marriottsville, is expected to begin or about Monday, May 8th. Weather permitting, the project is expected to take two weeks to complete.
During the work, Albeth Road will be closed to through traffic from Marriottsville Road to Starlight Path. Traffic will follow a clearly marked detour using Marriottsville Road and Starlight Path.
Variable message boards and signs have been posted to alert the public of the project and corresponding road closure. Additionally, a recorded message at 410-313-4400 will carry details and updates.
While the County and its transportation partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, drivers are reminded to stay alert and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Please slow down and don’t follow too closely when traveling through a work zone. Remember, work zone safety is in your hands.
