ELLICOTT CITY, MD – A Howard County construction project to replace the Daisy Road bridge over Little Cattail Creek, located just north of 3635 Daisy Road in Woodbine, is scheduled to begin on or about Wednesday, June 12th. The existing bridge will be replaced with a new concrete bridge and the roadway approach to the bridge will be raised to improve vehicular sight distance and stream flow under the bridge. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by early April 2025.

While the work is being done, the bridge will be closed to all traffic. Traffic will follow a clearly marked detour using Jennings Chapel Road and Ed Warfield Road.

Variable message boards and signs will be posted to alert the public of the project and corresponding road closure. Additionally, a recorded message at 410-313-4400 will carry details and updates as they are available.

While the County and its transportation partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, drivers are reminded to stay alert and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Please slow down and don’t follow too closely when traveling through a work zone. Remember, work zone safety is in your hands.
