ELLICOTT CITY, MD – A Howard County project to construct 200 linear feet of new sewer main near the Whiskey Bottom Road traffic circle in Laurel, is expected to begin on or about Monday, August 14th. The project will involve the installation of a new sewer main with two manholes and a sewer house connection to 9712 Whiskey Bottom Road. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by late August 2023.

Flagging operations will be in place to direct traffic as needed and signs will be posted to alert residents and motorists of the construction, as a single lane closure will occur during construction hours, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

While the County and its transportation partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, drivers are reminded to stay alert and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Please slow down and don’t follow too closely when traveling through a work zone. Remember, work zone safety is in your hands.
