ELLICOTT CITY, MD – A Howard County construction project to improve a stormwater management detention pond near 8825 Cardinal Forest Circle in Laurel, is expected to begin on or about Monday, August 30th. The pond’s existing corrugated metal control structure and pipe barrel will be replaced with a concrete structure. Enhanced water-quality features, including a step-pool stormwater conveyance system and a plunge pool with forebay, will be installed. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by late December.

The project is not expected to impact the flow of traffic; however, a portion of the sidewalk adjacent to the work site will be closed to pedestrians for the duration of the work. Signs will be posted in the area to alert residents of the project.
