ELLICOTT CITY, MD - The Howard County Department of Public Works’ (DPW) Stormwater Management Division will hold a community outreach meeting on Thursday, October 3rd at 6:00 p.m., in the Hammond Room at the North Laurel Community Center, to discuss a project to repair a failing stormwater pond north of 9906 Whiskey Bottom Road in Laurel.

The project will include lining the old metal outlet spillway pipe with a durable material to strengthen the pipe and increase its longevity, as well as improvements to the embankment and other enhancements to bring the pond into compliance with current Maryland Department of the Environment requirements. The project is scheduled to begin this fall and weather permitting, expected to be completed by winter 2024.

The informal meeting will include an overview of the design, followed by a question-and-answer session. County staff and the project’s design consultant will be on hand to answer any questions and gather public comments.

Those unable to attend the meeting who would like to view the plans and/or have questions, should contact Avinash Dewani with DPW’s Stormwater Management Division at 410-313-6417 or email adewani@howardcountymd.gov.
