ELLICOTT CITY, MD – A Howard County construction project to reduce stream erosion and damage to an Open Space area and private property west of Ashbrook Drive in Ellicott City, is expected to begin survey work in mid- to late-October and construction work on or about Tuesday, November 1st. Through the installation of rock and wood/log structures, the project will improve the water quality and stability of the stream channel and storm drain outfall to the Patapsco River tributary. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by late February 2023.
While the project is not expected to impact traffic flow, signs will be posted near the project area to advise motorists and pedestrians of the construction.
The project is partially funded through the County’s Watershed Protection and Restoration Fund.
