ELLICOTT CITY, MD – A Howard County construction project to replace the existing 12-inch waterline across the Patapsco River near the 5900 block of River Road in Elkridge, is expected to begin on or about Monday, October 21st. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by early January 2025.

While the project is not expected to impact the flow of traffic in the area, signs will be posted near the project site to advise motorists and pedestrians of the construction. Additionally, a disruption in customer water services is not expected during this project.

While the County and its transportation partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, drivers are reminded to stay alert and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Please slow down and don’t follow too closely when traveling through a work zone. Remember, work zone safety is in your hands.
