ELLICOTT CITY, MD – Howard County Executive Calvin Ball will attend the grand opening of The African Art Museum of Maryland (AAMM) at its new location in Long Reach Village Center in Columbia. The museum, entering an historic 40th year is one of three in the United States focused exclusively on African art and was founded by Doris Ligon in 1980.
“I would like to welcome Doris Ligon and the African Art Museum of Maryland to the Long Reach Village Center as the museum celebrates its 40th anniversary,” said Ball. “The museum is not only returning to its Columbia roots, but will be a great addition to our emerging arts and culture hub at the village center.”
