ELLICOTT CITY, MD – County Executive Calvin Ball will be joined by the U.S. Attorney for Maryland, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Community Resources and Services, the Howard County Police Department, HopeWorks, and other partners on Wednesday, October 7th at 11:00 a.m. to announce the federal grant received to fight human trafficking.
“Through this grant Howard County will proactively identify more vulnerable residents and victims of sex and labor trafficking, serve more survivors capably with high quality services, continue to effectively raise community awareness, and bring more traffickers to justice. We are fortunate to have such talented and compassionate people within our departments, who are completely dedicated to saving lives and improving safety for all residents in our communities,” said County Executive Calvin Ball. “We have zero tolerance for sex or labor trafficking of any kind here in Howard County, and we are honored to work side by side with the Department of Justice and other jurisdictions in proactively attacking this kind of criminal practice.”
