ELLICOTT CITY, MD – Last week, Howard County Executive Calvin Ball and members of his team visited twelve local restaurants participating in Howard County’s Summer Restaurant Weeks. The fifteen-day event sponsored by “Visit Howard” ran July 22nd to August 5th and featured fresh and unique chef’s menus of multi-course, specialty plates.
“I want to thank every Howard County restaurant who participated in this celebration of our incredible, local food scene,” said Ball. “When we launched our winter Restaurant Weeks a few months ago, it was during the historic federal government shutdown that negatively impacted all our Howard County restaurants. To help our restaurants continue to make up for that unnecessary loss of revenue, I encourage all Howard County residents and visitors from around the region to enjoy our future Restaurant Weeks. We have some of the best restaurants, chefs, and diversity of cuisines that can be found anywhere in Maryland. I was fortunate to enjoy so many great meals last week, I wish there had been time to visit every single one our fantastic restaurants.”
"Thank you to Howard County Executive Dr. Calvin Ball and his team for their support of Howard County Restaurant Weeks," said Amanda Hof, Executive Director for Visit Howard County. "We are very fortunate to have an administration that understands the value of tourism in our community. Dining in Howard County restaurants supports jobs and local suppliers such as farms and goods and services providers. Spending also generates State tax revenues that go towards Marylanders' quality of life."
