ELLICOTT CITY – Howard County Executive Calvin Ball will host a roundtable discussion with more than 30 federal contractors to assess the impact of the recent history-making federal government shutdown. Many federal contractors, unlike government employees, are not expected to get back pay for the paychecks they missed during the 35-day shutdown. During past shutdowns, contractors have been forced to take this gap in pay as a loss.
