ELLICOTT CITY – Howard County Executive Calvin Ball will join Senator Guy Guzzone, Senator Clarence Lam, Delegate Courtney Watson, Councilwoman Liz Walsh, Visit Howard County, and the Ellicott City Partnership (ECP), December 21st at 11:00 a.m., for a news conference at the Visit Howard County Welcome Center, 8267 Main Street, in Ellicott City to kick-off a voucher program called the Old Ellicott City “Holiday Bucks” program. This program is a show of support for the businesses in Old Ellicott City, which were impacted severely by two devastating floods, in July 2016 and May 2018. 

The program, which provides $10 spending vouchers redeemable at participating restaurants, shops and service providers within the Old Ellicott City historic district, runs from December 21-24, 2018. 1,500 numerically marked vouchers will be distributed on a first-come first-serve basis, two per family. Vouchers can be picked up from the Howard County Welcome Center, located at 8267 Main Street, Ellicott City 21043 from December 21st 11:00 AM to December 24th 2:00 PM while supplies last. Participating retailers will post a flyer in their window indicating they are a participating location.
