ELLICOTT CITY, MD – Today, Howard County Executive Calvin Ball directed the Department of Public Works to illuminate the George Howard Building in Ellicott City with purple lighting in support of the Baltimore Ravens as they begin their playoff run this weekend. The George Howard Building will be lit purple every evening beginning at dusk until the Ravens playoff run comes to an end.
“The Baltimore Ravens have had an amazing season and overcome incredible hurdles and challenges to reach the playoffs this year. Here in Howard County we’re ready to support them all the way to a Super Bowl championship,” said Ball. “Although we may not be able to gather in person to display our purple pride, we are cheering on our team at a safe distance and through virtual celebrations. We have the most passionate fans, and I am excited to light up the George Howard Building in purple to bring some extra luck to the Ravens during the playoffs.”
Howard County currently has restrictions limiting the size of social gatherings to a maximum of 10 people indoors and 25 people outdoors. Residents are cautioned to avoid any gatherings with people outside of their household and encouraged to continue mitigation practices like wearing a face covering, keeping distance and washing hands.
