ELKRIDGE, MD – This afternoon, Howard County Executive Calvin Ball will welcome United Way of Central Maryland and players from the Baltimore Ravens to the Elkridge Volunteer Fire Station during a league-wide day of volunteerism for the “Huddle for 100” campaign.
“United Way and our Baltimore Ravens are setting a positive example of community service with their biggest campaign yet. Howard County is proud to partner in their efforts and to welcome them to our Elkridge Fire Station on Monday,” said Ball. “Our team gives us a reason to come together every Sunday. Now, we are uniting behind an even bigger cause, getting involved to better our community.”
Held in recognition of the National Football League’s (NFL) 100th season, “Huddle for 100” calls for participants to dedicate 100 minutes of service, with the goal of accumulating 100 million volunteer minutes among all NFL fans. The Ravens will volunteer by attending a Community CPR class hosted by Howard County at the Elkridge Volunteer Fire Station. The Ravens will send a few members of the team, their mascot, and some staff. A pair of tickets to a Ravens home game will be given away at the Fire Station, and one lucky volunteer, at one of the Maryland community sites, will win a Super Bowl LIV Experience in Miami.
