ELLICOTT CITY, MD – Howard County Executive Calvin Ball is hosting his second annual Lunar New Year Celebration at the Mall in Columbia this Saturday, January 25th.
The First Lady Yumi Hogan, Senator Clarence Lam, and Council Chairperson Deb Jung will also be in attendance to celebrate Lunar New Year, an important traditional holiday in Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese cultures. The event will feature remarks from elected officials, more than a dozen music and dance performances along with cultural demonstrations and ethnic food in celebration of the Year of the Rat.
“The Lunar New Year is a wonderful tradition for many residents in our growing Asian Community,” said Howard County Executive Calvin Ball. “We’re delighted to continue this event at The Mall in Columbia, where all our Howard County residents and visitors can partake in the festivities, spend time with family, and celebrate the new year and all that it brings.”
