ELLICOTT CITY, MD – Today, Governor Hogan called on County governments to assist with needed staffing for testing and vaccination sites and to support increasing clinical needs in hospitals.
“We heard the Governor’s call and stand ready to support COVID-19 testing and vaccination efforts,” said County Executive Calvin Ball. “The continued effort to mitigate the spread of this virus requires the collaboration and cooperation of our government, private organizations, and our residents. Howard County will continue to communicate with our partners on the State level to offer assistance and support as needed.”
“Paramedics and EMTs chose this line of profession because they seek to assist others in their most vulnerable times,” said Fire Chief William Anuszewski. “I stand with County Executive Ball and encourage all qualified emergency medical responders to step up and support this state-wide effort.”
“Healthcare workers are on the frontlines working to eliminate this pandemic and save lives,” said Dr. Maura Rossman, Howard County Health Officer. “We support any efforts to expand and support this critical workforce to ensure that Howard County residents are able to receive medical care when it is needed."
