Howard County police are investigating a single-vehicle collision involving a pedestrian who died days later at the hospital. The incident occurred in Mt. Airy on May 31 and the victim was pronounced deceased June 9.
At approximately 8:26 a.m., a 2011 Honda Civic was traveling northbound in the 1200 block of Ridge Road when it struck a pedestrian walking on the shoulder.
The pedestrian, Allen Lee Dawson, 47, was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center with critical injuries and was pronounced dead June 9.
The driver of the Honda, an adult male, was not injured and remained at the scene. The investigation is ongoing; charges have not been filed at this time.
