Howard County police are investigating a fatal collision involving a pedestrian late on Aug. 9 in Laurel in which one person was killed.
At approximately 10:40 p.m., a 2014 Mercedes-Benz E350 was traveling south on Washington Boulevard approaching Wilbert Lane when it struck a pedestrian crossing the road. The pedestrian, 44-year-old James Douglas Williams Jr. of Rosedale, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Mercedes was uninjured and remained at the scene.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the pedestrian was not in a crosswalk when he was struck. The investigation is ongoing; no charges have been filed.
