Howard County police are investigating a fatal two-vehicle collision that occurred in West Friendship Tuesday evening.
At approximately 9:28 p.m., a 2017 Freightliner was making a left turn from northbound Route 32 onto westbound I-70 when a 2012 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque traveling southbound on 32 struck and continued underneath the Freightliner.
The driver and sole occupant of the Land Rover, Laith Basil Aboarob, 17, of Clarksville, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver and sole occupant of the Freightliner, Donald Gary Compton, 63, of Rocky Ridge, was not injured and remained at the scene.
Police are continuing to investigate possible contributing factors to the collision, including speed. Route 32 was closed in both directions for approximately four hours.
