Howard County police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle collision in Woodbine on Wednesday night in which one person was killed and another was injured.
At approximately 9:44 p.m., a 2001 Honda Accord was traveling east on Frederick Road near Daisy Road when it left the roadway for an unknown reason and struck a tree. The driver, 62-year-old Samuel Wayne Bowman Jr., of New Windsor, was pronounced dead at the scene. An adult male passenger was transported to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center with serious injuries.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation. Frederick Road near Daisy Road was closed for approximately four hours.
