Police officers and members of the community are joining forces tomorrow, Aug. 6, for National Night Out, an evening of events intended to generate participation in and support for local crime prevention activities.
Parties will kick off at 5 p.m. at Clarksville Commons (12230 Clarksville Pike, Clarksville, MD 21029) where Chief of Police Greg Der, County Executive Calvin Ball, and County Council Chair Deb Jung will welcome community members to the event.
This free event will feature police and fire displays, live music, child-friendly activities, games, giveaways and more!
In preparing for National Night Out, the police department’s Community Outreach Division has helped residents organize 23 neighborhood block parties throughout the county. Police personnel and mascots, as well as partners from Maryland State Police, Howard County States Attorney’s Office, Howard County Sheriff’s Office and Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services will visit neighborhood parties throughout the county.
