Howard County police have charged a suspect in the nonfatal shooting that occurred in Columbia earlier this month.
Naquan Khami Davis, 15, is charged as an adult with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, and related firearms charges. He was arrested March 24 at his residence and is currently in the Howard County Detention Center awaiting a determination of bond.
Officers were called to the pathway near the 9400 block of Brett Lane at approximately 3:05 p.m. on March 6 for a report that an individual had been shot in the torso. The victim, a 15-year old relative of Davis, was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in critical condition. He is currently listed in stable condition.
Through investigation, police determined that Davis and the victim had an ongoing dispute and had agreed to meet at the time and location of the shooting to address their disagreement.
