ELLICOTT CITY, MD – A Howard County construction project to improve a stormwater management pond near 8409 Sweet Cherry Lane in Laurel is scheduled to begin on or about Monday, March 16. The pond outlet system will be replaced with a large riser structure and associated storm drainage. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by late October.
While the project is not expected to impact the flow of traffic, signs have been posted near the project area to advise motorists and pedestrians of the construction.
While the County and its transportation partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, drivers are reminded to stay alert and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Please slow down and don’t follow too closely when traveling through a work zone. Remember, work zone safety is in your hands.
