ELLICOTT CITY, MD – A BGE project to complete maintenance work on two utility poles located near 8116 Main Street in Ellicott City, is scheduled to begin at midnight on Monday, September 14th. According to BGE, there will be no power interruption to its customers during the maintenance work. However, signs and flagging operations will be in place to direct traffic, as Main Street near Maryland Avenue will be closed from 1:00 to 6:00 a.m. on Monday, September 14th. Traffic will follow a clearly marked detour around the closure. Weather permitting, the total project is expected to take one day to complete.
While the County and its transportation partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, drivers are reminded to stay alert and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Please slow down and don’t follow too closely when traveling through a work zone. Remember, work zone safety is in your hands.
