ELLICOTT CITY, MD – A developer project to reconstruct a portion of Old Frederick Road and relocate the water main near the entrance to the Patapsco Crossing development, located at 8643 Old Frederick Road in Ellicott City, is expected to begin on Friday, October 16th at 7:00 p.m. The vertical curve at 8643 Old Frederick Road will be realigned to improve the sight distance for motorists. In order to adjust the vertical curve, the water main in the area must be lowered. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by 5:00 a.m., Monday, October 19th.
During the project, a portion of Old Frederick Road between North Rogers Avenue and Howard Run Drive will be closed to all vehicular and pedestrian traffic. Signs will be posted at the project site to advise motorists of the road closure. Traffic will follow a clearly marked detour using Rogers Avenue, MD 99/Old Frederick Road, Woodstock Road, Old Court Road, Dogwood Road and Hollifield Road. A recorded message at 410-313-3639 will carry project updates.
Additionally, if crews encounter complications, the project may resume on Friday, October 23 at 7:00 p.m. with full completion by Monday, October 26 at 5:00 a.m.
