ELLICOTT CITY, MD – The second phase of a Howard County construction project to rehabilitate an aging sewer main along a portion of Frederick Road in Ellicott City has begun. This phase of the project will include the relining of approximately 2,000 linear feet of 12-inch concrete sewer line, and manhole rehabilitation along the 8600 and 8700 blocks of Frederick Road. Weather permitting, this second phase is expected to be completed by mid-November.
Signs will be posted and flagging operations will be in place to direct traffic, as eastbound traffic along Frederick Road from just east of Papillion Drive to Klein Avenue will shift to the westbound lane during construction hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
While the County and its transportation partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, drivers are reminded to stay alert and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes, and highway workers. Please slow down and don’t follow too closely when traveling through a work zone. Remember, work zone safety is in your hands.
