ELLICOTT CITY, MD – A Howard County construction project to enhance the sidewalk along eastbound Whiskey Bottom Road between All Saints Road and Moonshine Hollow in Laurel, is expected to begin on or about Monday, November 23. This is just one small example of the County’s commitment to implement projects included in the recently adopted Pedestrian Plan, WalkHoward: Moving Forward

An Americans with Disabilities Act compliant sidewalk ramp will be installed parallel to the existing stairway connecting to the sidewalk. Additionally, stamped asphalt to match the splitter island surface will be installed next to the curb at the All Saints Road circle to reduce maintenance. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by early December.

The project is not expected to impact the general flow of vehicular traffic; however, flaggers will be in place to direct motorists during material deliveries. Furthermore, a portion of the sidewalk at each ramp connection point will be closed to pedestrians for the duration of the project. Signs will be posted at the project site to advise motorists and pedestrians of the work and closure.
