Belmont receives “Couples’ Choice” award for second year in a row
ELLICOTT CITY, MD – Howard County Executive Calvin Ball today announced that for the second year in a row, the Department of Recreation & Parks’ Belmont Manor & Historic Park has received the “Couples’ Choice” award for venues from WeddingWire.
“Howard County is one of the healthiest and safest places to live in the nation – so it’s no surprise that couples are choosing a location like Belmont to start the next chapter of their lives. Last year, nearly 70 couples selected Belmont as the backdrop to their special day and we already have more than 50 weddings on the books for this year,” said Ball. “Clearly, Belmont has established itself as one of the premier wedding venues in our region and in the nation."
First recognized in 2019, this award recognizes Belmont’s continued commitment to “quality, service, responsiveness and professionalism.” Winners of this award are determined by the reviews from more than one million WeddingWire couples.

Located at 6555 Belmont Woods Road in Elkridge, the County purchased this 68-acre property to ensure the property remained in the public trust. The estate features a stunning tree-lined driveway, exquisitely decorated Manor House and pristine, formal gardens. The Manor House was built in 1738 and was a private home until 1962. It is one of the oldest colonial buildings remaining in Howard County and is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
