ELLICOTT CITY, MD – A Howard County emergency repair project to replace the culvert on Folly Quarter Road over the tributary to Benson Branch, between Buckskin Lake Drive and Walt Ann Drive in Ellicott City, is expected to begin on or about Monday, December 2nd.  The project includes replacing the existing deteriorating concrete culvert with dual precast concrete culverts. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by mid- to late-December.

While the work is being done, this section of Folly Quarter Road will be closed to all traffic. During this time, traffic will follow a clear marked detour using Folly Quarter Road to Triadelphia Road to Carroll Mill Road to Folly Quarter Road.

Variable message boards and signs will be posted to alert the public of the project and corresponding road closure. Additionally, a recorded message at 410-313-4400 will carry details and updates.

While the County and its transportation partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, drivers are reminded to stay alert and look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Please slow down and don’t follow too closely when traveling through a work zone. Remember, work zone safety is in your hands.
