The Howard County Office of Human Resources (OHR) serves the employees of Howard County Government, and residents of Howard County Maryland, via the development and implementation of innovative and effective human capital management strategies and techniques. OHR works in partnership with management across Howard County Government to assist individual departments and offices in the accomplishment of departmental missions, goals, and objectives. Classification and Compensation

Retirement
The Retirement unit maintains two defined benefit retirement plans for their employees: one for the general employees including correctional officers, and the other for police officers and firefighters. This unit is committed to enhancing the understanding of the plan benefits while providing quality service to our members as they move to and through retirement.
