ELLICOTT CITY, MD – County Executive Calvin Ball will sign a property acquisition agreement allowing improvements on the Guilford Road and Oakland Mills Road intersection to move forward. The event will be at First Baptist Church in Columbia on September 18th at 11:00 a.m. and will include County officials and community stakeholders. The improvements include a new traffic signal, sidewalks and bus pads.   
 
“All our residents should have safe, accessible, and reliable infrastructure in order to live their best lives and thrive,” said Ball. “We know that reliable public transportation and safety for our pedestrians and cyclists continues to be a concern for many of our residents. These improvements make this intersection and the nearby streets safer and more accessible for everyone-- whether you are driving a car, catching a bus, walking or biking.”
