Launched by Ball in 2023, the YEP! initiative is intended to provide nonprofit community organizations with the necessary resources to establish or enhance out-of-school programming and engagement opportunities for Howard County’s young people at the elementary, middle, and high school ages. These programs should offer participants the opportunity to be more active and engaged with their peers in a safe, supportive and nurturing environment. Since the launch of the YEP! grants, more than $1.5 million has been awarded to support nearly 40 nonprofits, and more than 9,000 young people have participated in YEP! programs across Howard County.
