ELLICOTT CITY, MD – The Howard County Department of Public Works’ (DPW) Bureau of Highways’ Traffic Engineering Division will hold a community outreach open house on Wednesday, April 30th from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. in the media center at Waverly Elementary School, to present traffic calming plans for Dorchester Way. The project will implement strategies available in the County’s recently updated Howard County Neighborhood Traffic Calming Policy, to combat excessive vehicular speeds along the roadway.
At this open house event, DPW staff will be on hand to discuss the proposed traffic calming design, answer questions, and gather public comments. Additionally, staff from the County’s Office of Transportation (OoT) will also be in attendance to discuss the potential for the incorporation of bike lanes into the project.
Those unable to attend the open house, will be able to view the plans online on DPW’s Traffic Engineering Division’s “Traffic Calming” website immediately following the event.
