Join the Howard County LGBTQIA+ Commission, in partnership with the Howard County Office of Human Rights & Equity, for a timely and impactful webinar designed to empower the LGBTQIA+ community and its allies with essential knowledge and tools to safeguard their legal rights amid growing concerns about federal, state, and local policy changes.

These concerns include:

  • Legal threats to transgender rights
  • Expanded use of religious exemptions to justify discrimination
  • Uncertainty surrounding marriage equality
  • Healthcare coverage and policy discrimination
  • Potential rollbacks of policies that safeguard human rights, including those of the LGBTQIA+ community
  • Reproductive, parental and caregiving rights for LGBTQIA+ people

We are honored to be joined by Hon. Byron E. Macfarlane, Esq., Howard County Register of Wills and the first openly gay elected official in Howard County, and Lauren Pruitt, Esq., Legal Director of FreeState Justice, Maryland’s leading legal advocacy organization for LGBTQIA+ individuals.

These distinguished panelists will provide:

  • Expert insights into key legal issues affecting the LGBTQIA+ community
  • Practical resources and strategies for individuals and families
