Howard County Executive Calvin Ball today joined Tuerk House’s CEO Bernard Gyebi-Foster and Board Chairman Dr. H. Duante Duckett to cut the ribbon on Tuerk House’s new Highland House in Howard County. This new 16-bed residential treatment facility will assist pregnant women recover from substance misuse.

Howard County Government offices, courts, 50+ centers, animal shelter, Alpha Ridge Landfill and more will be closed on Monday, December 25th in observance of the Christmas holiday. As there will be no Monday curbside trash, recycling, yard trim or food scrap collection on Christmas Day, the County’s holiday "slide” schedule will be in effect.

Many Miles Mews Pond Repair to Begin
A Howard County Department of Public Works’ Stormwater Management Division construction project to repair a storm water management pond located on Columbia Association property behind 9566 Many Mile Mews in Columbia, is expected to begin on or about Monday, January 15, 2024. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by late September 2024.

Autumn River Water Main and Sewer Main Stabilization Project to Begin
A Howard County construction project to stabilize exposed public utilities at a stream crossing located in a wooded area off Bending Sky Way in Ellicott City, is expected to begin on or about Tuesday, January 2nd. The project will provide cover and protection for the water main and sewer main exposed in the stream. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by mid-January.
