Howard County Executive Calvin Ball today broke ground on the Quaker Mill Flood Mitigation Pond.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Howard County Executive Calvin Ball today announced, as of December 1st, the County's Department of Housing and Community Development and its non-profit partners have distributed more than $15 million (or 51%) of its county, state and federal funding in rent and utility assistance and foreclosure prevention assistance to 1,849 county households.

Howard County Executive Calvin Ball has signed a memorandum of understanding with Fort George G. Meade and Anne Arundel County to provide workforce services to transitioning service members, active-duty spouses and veterans at Fort Meade.

Beginning this month and running through February 1, 2022, Howard County’s Department of Public Works will be conducting a survey of septic system owners within the County’s Water and Sewer Planned Service Area. Howard County police have charged a 15-year-old male student with bringing a handgun into Reservoir High School. The gun was discovered by school staff and reported to police.
