Howard County Government Closings for Memorial Day Holiday on May 27th
Howard County Government offices, courts, animal shelter, 50+ centers and Alpha Ridge Landfill will be closed in observance of the Memorial Day holiday on Monday, May 27th. As there will be no Monday curbside trash, recycling, yard trim or food scrap collection on Memorial Day, the County’s holiday "slide” schedule will be in effect for the remainder of the week.

Mission Road Sidewalk Project to Begin
A Howard County construction project to install sidewalk along Mission Road from Guilford Road to Dorsey Cove in Jessup, is scheduled to begin on or about Tuesday, May 28th. Weather permitting, the project is scheduled to be completed by late July 2024.

Marriottsville Road Culvert Replacement Project to Begin
developer project to replace the culvert of a Little Patuxent River tributary running under Marriottsville Road, just south of the Resort Road/Albeth Road intersection in Marriottsville, is expected to begin on or about Monday, June 17th. While the work is being done, Marriottsville Road from Resort Road to US 40 will be closed to all traffic. Weather permitting, the work is expected to be completed by late August 2024.
