HCHD Awards Tobacco/Vaping, Diabetes and Chronic Disease Prevention Grants
The Howard County Health Department has awarded five local organizations nearly $50,000 in grants through the Local Health Department (LHD) Tobacco, Diabetes and Chronic Disease Prevention and Management Initiatives Grant, a new joint initiative from the Maryland Department of Health (MDH) to advance health equity by identifying and eliminating tobacco, diabetes and chronic disease related inequities and disparities.

Woodstock Underground Fire Suppression Tanks Project to Begin
A Howard County construction project to install a 30,000-gallon fire suppression tank adjacent to the 1900 block of Woodstock Road in Woodstock, is expected to begin on or about Wednesday, December 14th. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by late January 2023.
