Howard County Executive Calvin Ball and command members from the County Police and Fire Departments and Howard County Sheriff’s Office, will honor and pay tribute to all who lost their lives during the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, including the four victims from Howard County, with a remembrance wreath laying ceremony.

Today, County Executive Calvin Ball announced nearly $750,000 in grants for Howard County live venues and arts community that have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

A Howard County Department of Recreation & Parks project to remove 150 dead ash trees along the Dorsey Hall pathway system in Ellicott City, is expected to begin on or about Monday, September 21st.

The grant award will help the regional “Planting the Future” initiative by funding a full-time Restoration Coordinator for a 30-month period in Howard County and allow the County's Department of Recreation & Parks to ramp up its existing programs, such as its Stream ReLeaf and Turf to Trees programs.

Effective 5:00 p.m., Friday, September 4, Howard County will move forward with Governor Hogan’s modified Phase 3 plan of reopening, which includes the opening of enclosed and outdoor theatres with various restrictions and the loosening of restrictions on retail and religious facilities.
