Howard County Department of Public Works to Host Community Outreach Meeting on the Furnace Avenue Bridge Rehabilitation Project
The Howard County Department of Public Works will hold a community outreach meeting on Wednesday, October 2nd, to discuss a project to replace the existing Furnace Avenue bridge over Deep Run, that connects Howard County to Anne Arundel County. Currently in 30 percent design phase, the proposed project will include the replacement of the existing steel beam bridge with a new concrete bridge, as well as the installation of new traffic barriers and improvements to the roadway approach within the project limits. The project is scheduled to begin in fall 2027 and weather permitting, is expected to be completed by fall 2028.
