Beginning on Monday, April 28th at 6:00 a.m., the Howard County Department of Public Works will close Parking Lot B in Historic Ellicott City, to allow for the construction of the outfall structure to the Ellicott City Safe and Sound Plan’s North Tunnel. Weather permitting, the work is expected to be completed by mid-2027, at which time the lot will reopen for public use.

The Howard County Department of Public Works’ Bureau of Highways’ Traffic Engineering Division will hold a community outreach open house on Wednesday, April 30th, to present traffic calming plans for Dorchester Way. The project will implement strategies available in the County’s recently updated Howard County Neighborhood Traffic Calming Policy, to combat excessive vehicular speeds along the roadway.
